We asked BAPFF audiences to vote for their favourite film in the 2014 BAPFF program and we are pleased to announce that The Dead Lands, New Zealand’s indigenous fantasy adventure film, has won the Foxtel Movies People’s Choice Award.
The Dead Lands, a bold and energetic revenge story, is set in a time long before New Zealand made European contact. The film was shot completely in the Maori language and was New Zealand’s official submission for the 2015 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
Audiences who voted were in the running to win a festival 2015 season pass. The lucky winner was Huan Luo (Qld).
