Brisbane’s reputation as a film industry hub continues to grow following the announcement that The Asian Animation Summit will coincide with the international film schools’ CILECT Congress this November.
This will be the first time either conference have travelled to Brisbane with the Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival (BAPFF) and 10th anniversary edition of Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) major deciding factors in their decision to choose Brisbane.
The Asian Animation Summit attracts producers of animation who are interested in co-producing projects with partners in the Asia Pacific as well as broadcasters, distributors and investors from the region and beyond; while CILECT brings together an association of more than 160 audio-visual educational schools from 60 countries around the world.
The two conferences will together attract 400 delegates to Brisbane and along with APSA and BAPFF’s international guests, will bring more than 500 international film practitioners to Brisbane.
Brisbane is set to become a melting pot in November with conference delegates, BAPFF guests and APSA Academy members given the opportunity to collaborate on a scale the film industry hasn’t seen in Australia before.
