ASIA PACIFIC QUEER FILM FESTIVAL ALLIANCE COMES TO AUSTRALIA

This year, Queer Screen is hosting the Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance as part of the Mardi Gras Film Festival. We are excited to announce that BAPFF Head Programmer Kiki Fung will attend the festival on 27 February to moderate a forum between leading Asia Pacific queer film festival directors and programmers in the Alliance.

With its inaugural forum held in 2015 in Taipei, the Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance explores queer film festivals’ role in changing minds across our region and aims to enhance the visibility of LGBTIQ people through cinema.

Delegates from the 17 Alliance festivals will attend the forum from member countries and areas, including China, Hawaii, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Melbourne and of course those from our very own Brisbane.

Join us in Sydney for a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the quality and diversity of films produced in the region, as well as to recognise the growing film festival scene.

The 24th Mardi Gras Film Festival (15 February – 2 March) is presenting almost 100 screenings across Sydney, Canberra and regional NSW.
